Graincliffe WTW Lime Dosing Plant Graincliffe Water Treatment Works is situated on Bingley Moor in Yorkshire. Water is collected from surrounding reservoirs and treated using Dissolved Air Flotation and Rapid Gravity Filters.   Lime dosing is primarily needed to ensure that pH is correct prior to filtration. The lime dosing plant was part of a major upgrading programme to secure compliance with current and anticipated water supply standards and attain the best standards of operational reliability and efficiency. Circle Controls completed the entire electrical installation. A new MCC was installed to control the dosing pumps and associated equipment. Control stations were built for each drive and wired back to the MCC. Over 100 actuated valves and instruments had to be wired via local marshalling cabinets to the MCC. Building services were extended to give lighting up the lime silos and around the mixer tanks. Throughout the project, the risk to water quality and supply were kept low, whilst maintaining service to the client and consumers at the highest level.
